Brow lamination is the latest trend that has taken the Australian beauty scene by storm.
But what is brow lamination? How does it work? Should it be done at home?
Brow lamination is a beauty service that involves fixing and straightening eyebrow hairs in a specific style with results that last up to 6 weeks.
Your brow professional will discuss with you your desired outcome during a salon consultation. On trend styles include a brushed up or straightened look to give the brows a fuller, fluffier appearance as well as a more natural style which is designed to tame unruly hairs.
RefectoCil has launched their new KERATIN ENRICHED Pink Power Solution which is included in the Dual Purpose Brow Lamination and Lash Lift Kits! The treatment procedure is a two step process. Firstly the brows are thoroughly cleansed using the RefectoCil Micellar Eye Makeup Remover and the hairs are then styled and positioned into the desired look using the unique RefectoCil Browista Brush.
Once the brows have been placed precisely into their desired shape, the Pink Power Solution is carefully applied to the hairs. At this point, the individual hairs often need to be repositioned to ensure the correct shape is maintained. This solution softens and breaks down the disulfide bonds in the hairs to manipulate and maintain their new shape.
After processing, the first solution is removed and a neutralising lotion is applied to the area to ‘fuse back the bonds’ and lock the newly shaped brows in place. After the recommended processing time the neutraliser is removed and the brows lamination treatment is complete.
Whilst “Do It Yourself” home lamination kits are readily available, we recommend this treatment is always performed by beauty professionals only. Risks include overprocessing, resulting in burnt, singed or even worse, broken brow hairs. Skin irritations can also occur. It can take months for brows to be restored. Your beauty professional will always recommend a home care product to condition and nourish your brows in between appointments.
